Regulation (EC) No 852/2004 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 29 April 2004 on the hygiene of foodstuffs.

Description

All foodstuffs intended for human or animal consumption in the European Union are subject to a maximum residue level (MRL) of pesticides, in order to protect animal and human health. “Regulation (EC) No 396/2005 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 23 February 2005 on maximum residue levels of pesticides in or on food and feed of plant and animal origin and amending Council Directive 91/414/EEC” and related amendments and documents laid down the rules. Even if the pesticides are used in the agriculture and not on the products coming from forest, a list of pesticide’s limits is determined for berries, fruits, nuts and mushrooms.
